this was my first installation, everything went pretty well considering i dont have instructions for the amp or the cd player i was hooking up.

anyhow, heres my few questions:

the mounting hardware i got with my cd player didnt really fit all that well inside the car, so i used the mouting hardware that the car used in the first place. is this ok ?

since im guessing the dimensions of the cd player i bought and the factory one were a little bit different, it seemed like the cd player (once attached to the mouting hardware) rested a little further back inside the stereo enclosure in my car. the back of the cd player was probably close to if not touching or resting in contact with some other wires. the other wires are all covered wires, im just wondering if i should be worried about heat possibly melting anything back there since its a little closer to things than before ?

my final question is about the ground wire from my cd player. i connected the wire to one of those circular things that you put a screw through. and i put a screw through it and its secure, but i dont have a bolt for the other end of the screw. its a pretty long screw, so the only way i could see it coming out would be if i hit a huge (HUGE, this is a long screw) bump or something like that. in which case i would probably have bigger problems on my mind. anyway heres the question, if the ground wire did come out some how would it hurt my car in anyway ? or does the cd player have some programming that would tell it to shut down immediatly when there is no ground present ?

i have tons of wires directly touching my deck, i don't think there is anything to worry about there unless your's runs very hot and for a very long time and the wires have just a thin cover that will melt easily.
if the ground comes off(it might after continuous bumping, it could work it's way out over time, not just one big bump) the deck will shut off. and the wire bouncing around shouldn't cause anyproblem as long as there is no positive wire sitting right there. and even if it does, it shouldn't harm the deck, it will just blow the fuse of w/e the positive wire is connected too. generally ground wires are considered dead, you can have them lieing around and they can touch bare metal and nothing will happen. just keep away from positive(live) sources.
