so what is everybody out there using for security bypass modules? i put a starter in my 03 jimmy and i used one a bulldog/jbs 791 module. (from walmart ) it was good for a while now twice in the last week i could not start my truck,,,even with the key. i had to unplug the bypass and let it sit for 20 mins then it would start,,,again wth the key. i have used a few passlock2003 modules from fortinautoradio on a feww other peoples starters i installed,,,,(my buddy who owns a shop here hets them from his supplier)and they seem ok, but i find them a bit of a pain to program. anybody know why mine would do this???

one word, bulldog man. i wont TOUCH them at all at the shop. the jimmy is basic passlock 2. there is a few different bypasses u can use. passlock 2003 is a good module. i use them on ANY passlock 1 vechile i have to work on. could use the passlock sl module as well. u COULD just jump the resistence and totally bypass the passlock2 all together. up to you.

Passlock 2003 modual is what I personally use. Have used lots of diffrent passlock moduals, but the passlock modual is a trimpod style and to me seems to be the most reliable modual for passlock 1 or 2 out there. Yes it is an older style of modual, but flawless for me.

We use the DEI bypass units..for that vehicle,I believe its a 555L(someone correct me if I'm wrong)...And I dont recall getting any come backs due to a faulty bypass unit.

XK01 is what we'd usually use. It gives you access to additional features that straight bypass like 555L don't. Then you can sell those additional functions.
