Question Putting subs under a bench seat of a van! lol

Hey everyone,

Alright so I have a 94 voyager, and yes for some reason I put a nice little system in there - it's fun for going out to the bars with a bunch of drunks . Anyways, I have 2 12"s in a ported enclosure behind the rear bench seat. I was wondering how much the sound quality would diminish if I attached the subs to the bottom of the read bench. I think it'd be funny because then the whole bench would shake hah. Anyways, I'm not sure if you can do that or not, and I'm not sure if it's worth it - would it sound like ?
2 12"s - 600 watt rms powered by powered by 1000 watt max amp, duno the rms on it.

Anyways, any help would be appreciated.

Thanks
Ciao

Done right SQ would go up and SPL would go down.Up front(or closer to the front sub bass) is great.

SQ is sond Quality and SPL is Sound Pressure level. I think what he is trying to get at is that if it is done right it will sound better and cleaner, but it won't be as loud in dB. Or something along those lines

If thats the case, I can understand the pressure being lower, but why would the sound quality increase - isn't the whole idea of the enclosure to provide the better sound?, so if I took the subs out of the box, wouldn't they sound quality (SQ) decrease. Maybe I'm wrong, but can someone explain this whole idea.

thanks

I said if you did it right by building an enclosure.....without a box you will get little or no bass.

Well ya you do have to leave them in a box, unless they are free air (infinit Baffle) woofers. You will just be using a smaller enclosure and firing them at the floor
