Then the noise is created before the amp.

Could be the RCA cables. If you can, grab another set, plug them into the back of the deckand then plug them into the amp. problem stays - not the rca's. If the problem goes away, it was the rca's (either the cable -likely - or the location - unlikely, but possible)

Yes, but that speaker crossover must be turned down. Make sure the rca's are run nowhere near an engine control computer, like say in a kick panel for example. What is the chance that you have a Pioneer cd player and what kind of vehicle is this mounted in?

i have a 92 chev truck, and a clarion dxz525 deck. my rca's from the deck run down the firewall(might be the problem)then into my eqx which is in the center console i built, then the high pass goes to my esp3 and low pass goes into the epicenter, from there they go into the amps. they (rca's) are all pretty well isolated from the power leads to the processors and from them to the amps. i am thinking it could be the set from the deck. when i can get into the shop, i will pull the console and do some inspecting. i hope i get it fixed before the long ride to edmonton on saturday

Good luck!

Use the muting plugs on all the inputs starting at the first component before the amp (first the esp3, then the epicenter).

It may be a componenet, or a RCA cable. (or even the deck)

Well i found the problem. The noise is coming from the esp3. When i plug in the center channel output to the amp the noise starts. I cracked open the case and tried switching the grounding switch inside and makes no difference. Now i am not sure on how to fix the problem, maybe i have to send the unit away for service, it is pretty old.
