could be a lot of variables like:
1. Not enough power for your subs
2. Not the correct type or size of box
3. Box has air leaks
4. You wired the subs uncorrectly
I have a feeling you didn't wire your subs correctly for a 2ohm load. Your subs are dual 2ohms right? Go to JL audio's site and go to their wiring tutorial section to see how to connect two dual 2ohm DVC subs into a 2ohm load.
Good luck.

^ RF's power ratings were only deceiving if one did not take the time to look at the real ratings. They are no more overstated than many brands out there.
Blame it on poor salespeople and the consumer who needs to have 2.2 Gigawatts in their ride.
And I would bet that 'ack' has a woofer or at least a coil out of polarity.
