Need help how to set-up new amp.

Hi guys,

If you dont mind lending me a hand in figuring out what I have done and what I need to do in order to fix the problem.
I have a small beater truck that I put a small system in.
Sony CDX-GT220 head unit with one sub-out.
12"pioneer 1000W sub (250rms at 4ohms)
Pioneer 7300m 800Wmax Mono Amp (250rms @ 4ohms and 360 @ 2ohms)
and 2 5 1/4 MTX speakers.

Right now all the speakers are just hooked up to the deck and working fine. I just bought the new amp today and had all the wiring already ran so I just connected it up. So yesterday checking that my remote wire was connected I poped out my deck and I didnt have it connected so I went back to the manual. I connected the remote to the one in the manual that says Blue wire = Ant Rem, Thinking thats the remote. I take it its not. Here is my wiring guide http://www.docs.sony.com/release/CDXGT220_install_guide.pdf

But now the amp only turns on when my Tuner(am/fmradio) is selected when I press SOURCE. But even when the amp is turned on, on Tuner, The sub does not work.

Also now with the Deck after everything is hooked up. You turn the deck OFF then go into the set-up menus, And the selection is Sub/Rear.
Sub Out = to output to a Sub
Rear Out = to out to a power amplifier

I Did try both but I figured the Rear-out selection was the appropriate one. But still nothing.

Rca's are all connected properly. Remote I think might be the problem. Power is ok and the ground is properly done.

And this is the manual for the Deck if you want any referance
http://www.docs.sony.com/release/CDXGT220.pdf

Thank you for listening lol and I hope someone can help me out.

Mitch

You have hooked the antenna wire for amp turn on, Thats the one that raises a power antenna when tuner is turned on. There should be another blue wire for remote/amp turn on.

As far as the sub setting it should be set to "sub" out, after all you are using it for a sub.
look for a sub level/ volume that turns subwoofer up/down, should be somewere in the menu.

The only other free wires are a Red and Yellow that both say +. if you look at the wiring guide http://www.docs.sony.com/release/CDXGT220_install_guide.pdf

Maybe it those are accessorie wires?

As for a sub level. When sub-out is selected it shows a +/- volume control in the menus. As when set to rear-out there is no option.

Alright lol, I did rewire to another free blue/striped wire that was not labeled. Its working now. I did crank it to +10 but it feels like its not putting out its full power. But I still need to do some minor adjustments.

I'm not too sure. How can I check? When I first had it done it was done by another person, now my old stuff got stolen. So I've done pretty much replaced everything by myself learning just by reading. I know its a Stinger kit. But dont know which one. So ill look around unless there is an easier way.

Set your gain with sub level @ + 10 and bass settings were you normally have them set and your done, 250w is not a whole lot for a sub, but it should be decent....
I would get another sub that is 2 ohm to maximize your amps potential if you need more output.
Other than that you could try ported box if your working with a sealed right now?

Big robbery in an underground parking lot. Like 6 cars got broken into. As did mine, pick the lock? I dont know how they got in. I did what 92zed34 said and bumped it way up then set my stuff. Now its pumping pretty nice. Everything else except the amp is like a year old so everything is worked in lol. I havent checked my fuse yet. But I will get around too it. Thanks for all the help so far. What do you mean by a Ported box? and Yes its in a sealed box right now. I know the 250W isnt too powerful. But Im driving a single cab benchseat truck lol. So its small and i dont have all the much room haha
