New guy with a few questions
Hey guys I'm new to the forum. I live in Edmonton, Alberta and I have an 04 Silverado. I'm getting ready to do my audio system instal but i have a few questions.
1.SUBS
I bought 4 8" Kicker L7 subs with the intention of putting them into my regular cab truck but now i realize that i can only fit two or three to get the proper air space and port volume. What I'm wondering is what port demensions do i need to make a single port for 3 of the kickers?
And what port dimensions do i need to make a single port for 2 kickers?
This is what the kicker site says for the specs of the box:
Min recommended vented volume: 0.66 cubic feet + port displacement
Max recommended vented volume: 1.0 cubic feet + port displacement
Min: 1.5 x 9.5” port, 19.25” long
Max: 2 x 9.5” port, 21.25” long
2.COMPONENTS
Originally i planned to go with a set of Alpine Type X 6.5 components in the doors and the same set in some q-logic kick panels. But a friend on another forum told me i'd have frequency cancellation so he suggested that i run a 3-way component. I cant find any 3-way component systems so I'm a little confused about what to do? Should i run both sets of the type x components or just one set in the doors? Are there any 3-way component systems which you guys recommend?
Thanks.

i hear that, it wouldnt take up to much space tho, just rhino line the box then its waterproof and stuff and u can throw against it and everyhting.
but ya, i fully understand the need for the box, just throwin ideas out there....good luck dude, post pics when u do have it built

Ya i've had these subs sitting around for a few months now so i wanna get it all in. But i need to know this stuff before i start the build.
Oh and one more question. My subs have dual 4ohm voice coils so 3 in parrelal would make a 2.67 ohm load right? I have a kicker zx1500.1 amp and it says its stable at a minimum of 2 ohm so 2.67 ohm would be safe right?
