I can't afford to add anything to the car like a cap or something like that w/e. I just dont think it sounds right, maybe its me I have no idea. I feel Im getting more outta the 6x9's that sounds like actual bass than outta my sub. So Im gonna make a trip to Toronto sometime soon on a weekend, maybe somebody can take a look at it? It already came wired and sealed in the box its ported. Im thinking just take it back buy a different brand sub thats not used and a new box. A sub thats maybe able to produce something louder? I hear JL's louder lately. There was a big competition at Red Ball Radio here today tho I missed it got tied up in work here. But a friend of mine was there with his $1,000 JL 15"er that is SO loud lol. He wears ear plugs when driving.

Is it really safe to be driving with ear plugs? I think it defeats the purpose of a sound system if you're going to wear ear plugs...

And you can't compare your sub to his, it's not a fair comparison.

200w to your sub might just not be enough. What kind of sub is it? HE2? HE?

sounds like your sub might be wired up backwards.. or maybe your gains aren't set properly?? it might be the box..

I don't know. If your 6x9's are putting out more bass than your sub, it has to be a bigger issue than reverse wiring or bad box building etc. What about these possibilities?
Amp itself being fried? - listen directly to the sub. Is anything coming out of it?
Is the amp set to "High Pass" filter rather than "low pass" filter? One small switch can make all of the difference.

Are the 6x9s running off of the deck or another amp? if they are running off the deck (I'm guess ing around 20-25 RMS) and sounding louder than your sub - there is something seriously wrong with the set-up.

xtreme are you male or female? So far you have made yourself appear quite androgenous.

Well Im not sure what androgenous means lol but Im 100% female dude. I pointed that out in the 'Things That Rattle' discussion lol.

As for the 6x9's, they are running off the deck not the amp, my sub has lots coming out, but it just doesn't sound right to me, and when Im on the inside I hear more 'clear' bass from the 6x9's and just hard pounding thats not really sounding the way I think it should from the sub in the trunk.

My gain on the amp is turned up full and the +dB is at +6dB, Im gonna switch it to 12 and see if it makes a difference I just haven't had a chance yet. Im probably gonna goto Future Shop and just take it back if anything and get the sealed box with the MTX in it.

For rap is the sealed box just as good as a ported? Cuz any other type of music with the port sounds like garbage so its gonna be hard to listen to rock radio stations when I move to T.O. Edge 102 is my fav lmao.

a properly designed ported box, take out the rear seat or cut a big hole in the rear deck..

Androgenous-cant determine if a person is male/female..Its pat ,, its Pat
