BTW, I followed this wiring diagram. This one is different from the other ones I found on the internet.

I just tried this mod on my Pioneer AVH-X5500BHS and it would not work. Is there something else that I'm missing/not doing. I followed the instructions on the video to the T. Thanks.

The new AVH models require a double pulse on the ebrake, so this method will not work. Purchase the TR7 (~$20) and wire it to the "Alpine" bypass except don't make any connections involving the foot brake. The TR7 will pulse the ebrake wire twice and latch (hold) on the second pulse.

Do you know if I can pick that up at a Fry's electronics or Radio Shack? What is the part name or number I should be looking for?

There are no Fry's near me so I have no idea what they carry; Radioshack, definitely not. You are looking for the PAC TR7.

My installer told me that all of the new Pioneer radios require a double pulse on the parking brake unlike the old models that could use a relay. He uses Pioneer Parking Brake Bypass - Diybypass.com bypasses and so I went online and got one from Amazon.

Here is the one that I bought.

They sell them for other models too but I haven't used those so I don't really know the difference.

This one that I bought was super easy to install and I didn't have to program anything! there were only 3 wires to hook it up and now I have had it installed for about 5 months and it has worked like a charm everytime.
