a purposely fried speaker is not covered under almost any manufacturers warranty. so most liley you get a very expensive bookend.

 

what i'm trying to get at is with this much power the headroom of the speakers

i'm trying to look at over power to ok power things like
50w,100,200,500,1200 to a set of k2ps

i'm looking a need a pg 1200.1 for a box i'm doing so if i get 1 or 2 but i'm looking just at that line of amps
i mite get a 2nd pg t 500.2
ok i'm bored

i'm not looking at what will 2x the power to my mids then my sub

 

With so much power, it also makes you go deaf. Even at 100W per channel pushing hard you cannot listen very long without serious permanent hearing loss.
If you really want to add power and clarity, then use an electronic crossover with separate amps for mids and highs.

I have heard amazing sounding front ends of systems with 400-500 watts RMS per channel. Headroom is the key here, obviously the gains would be turned way down lowering the noise floor at the same time.

When deciding on front end power, you will want to have it reasonably matched (not equal) to the LF part of the system. If you have (2) 15" subs in the back with 2K RMS of power you will need a 'stronger' front end than if you were running (2) 10" subs with 800 watts RMS of power.

I do not know af anyone that ever had regrets of using lots of power if the system is set-up properly.

For the majority of systems, 100-200 watts per channel RMS at 4 ohms works well. That being said, read paragraph 2 above.
