what is the difference or is there a difference between these two when wireing a 800w dual 4 ohm coil sub...

2 ohms parallel with an amp rated for 400w @ 4ohms

or

8 ohms series with an amp rated for 800w @ 4ohms

yea u dont wanna run a 2 ohm load on a 4 ohm stable amp unless u have lotsa fuses, and the need for a new paperweight when the fuse doesnt save the amp....

ok i asked the question wrong then...

right now i am running a sub with 2 voice coils both at 4 ohms. the amp is mono and the coils are wire in parallel therefore resistance is 2 ohms power is 800w from the amp.

now what is the difference if you use a 2 channel amp at 400W per channel and 4 ohms
or even a one channel amp at 1600w at 8 ohms when wired in when the two coils are wired series

does any of this make any difference?
