Have a buddy who wants to get a subwoofer installed into his E46 BMW. Looking at a box built to hold 2 10" subs, approx 1 cuft each, in the trunk against the back seat, with the woofers installed in the middle of the box "face to face" in a "v" firing through to the ski pass opening in the rear seat. One amp and crossover, connected to the OEM harmon/kardon audio system.

What would a fair price for this work be? It would have to be a professional install, box covered and finished, components installed on the box. Also assuming the shop would be willing to work with used equipment. He's getting a quote in the $1000 range.

Thanks for the help guys...

I think I would charger between $800 -$900 depending on what wiring etc you would require.

Thanks stillwater and db! It's good to have a few different opinions on the costs.

I would charge about $600-700 but I am not a shop. I would suggest finding a quality backyard installer to do it for you if you want to save a few bucks. There are some PROs out there if you look.
