It has that real nice custom sparetire well fibreglass 3 10in. sub box that I got working again?

Well, it got stolen, used in a crime (stabbing) recovered, and James finally got it back from the cops.

So he's decided to keep it for himself, since it's a pretty nice car. It's a 94 BMW 325is, 2 door coupe, ground effects, tinted glass, black, big goofy wheels that don't fit right.

So he's ordered up some new wheels and tires, and I faxed my stereo d00d for a quote on an alarm system, indash DVD player, three new subs, and a 1 ohm stable amp to drive them, for me to install. Tom's out for the week so he'll quote me on the stuff on Monday...

ANYway... The car needs a door handle, one is busted. James was quoted something crazy like $300 for the handle... So he asked me if I knew how/where to get shaved door handle "kits" for the car... "I don't have the slightest" I said, "But the boys on my board might..."

So... anyone know how or where or if I can get kits to shave the door handles off this Bimmer? Not the body work, anyone can do that, but kits/servos/whatever to do the job?

I don't have experience with any door popper kits, so maybe someone else can chime in, but I just wanted to let you know that he can very probably get a door handle for MUCH less than $300. I'm guessing he called the dealer to get that amount? There are many junkyards or used/remanufactured parts places that sell perfectly functioning parts for a fraction of what the dealer charges.

For example, partstrain.com lists the outer cover and gasket for the door handles of this car at $9.95. Depending on what is broken, this may be all he needs. If not, I'm sure he can call a body shop or used parts place and get a door handle for under $100.

Door poppers they're called eh... and stereo shops have them? I never even thought of asking Tom.... cool.

Ya, he was quoted $300 by a dealer I'm sure. The quarter glass was broke on one side when he got it back, and he phoned around for a new glass...

Ended up getting the glass from the dealer, for around $300, as the wrecker's wanted $350! Didn't really matter, 'cause the cops broke the window, and they're paying for the new one I guess...
