Sub/Amp install advice HELP!!!
hi-i m new to this and am trying to make sense of how to connect my system:
heres what i have-ultimate T2 2450 4 ch amp,2ohm stable, 55by 4 @4,80by4@4,160by 2@4 bridged.
Sub,i have 1 cerwin vega 12" dvc 2ohm-rated at 400 watts in a sealed box. the previous owner of the sub said it couldnt take a ton of power...my question is this-should i be running 160 watts to each of the 2ohm voice coils,or will that drop my bridged ohm load from the amp side, or just get the dual 2ohm load up to a 4 ohm load at the sub side and just run a single bridged channel of 160 watts to it and use the other 2 channels remaining from my 4 channel amp to power some components-also,is 8awg power wire with a 1farad cap going to be good enoug power delivery to this amp? whew...tons of questions thanks guys for any help

Is your Cerwin Vega the HED series, Vmax or something else? Is it dual 4 ohms or dual 2 ohms? If it's a dual 4 ohm I would bridge the front channels and connect them to one voice coil and bridge the back channels and connect them to the second voice coil. This will deliver 320 watts to your sub.
