Sub-box in trunk or back dash?
#1
After doing more research. I read somewhere that having a box in the trunk will result in a loss of clearity and volume from the sub. Is this true? I was thinking, I have enough room in my back dash, that I could have the sub flush with the dash and the box on the other side of the dash in the trunk. Would this be a better option> It is only 1 10" sub.
Thanks.

Sub on parcel shelf (back dash I am presuming) have been quite poo sounding from what I have heard personally.
I think it's because it's relatively hard to stiffen that area unless you put a large piece of wood there. Securing a sub box to that shelf would even be harder as the shelf would also be holding the box in the air, unless you measured it well. This would also mean probably building the box in the trunk, not an easy endeavor.

No, it would definately be a challenge. I will try a box in the trunk for now and maybe in the future go this route. I looked at the back dash today and it is not solid.... it has holes and the material would allow audio through it.
