Sub Location
Hi Everyone,
Quick question. I have 2 Alpine type E shallow mount subs in a custom box. I have an 88 Dodge dakota regular cab. I have no room inside this cab but i make do with what i have. Currently i have the subs pointing towards the front of the truck. What my question is; would it make any difference in sound(to me or anyone) if i point the subs to the back of the truck? Theyre pretty loud the way i have them, but was thinking maybe theyll hit harder in my direction with them turned around.
Thanks for the input.

^ I think he wants to turn the whole box around so the woofers fire at the back wall of the cab. I had a customer do that once but he had an F-150 and 8s so he was able to space the box sufficiently off the back wall for it to work. Plus he wanted to put a plexi panel on the box to see the magnets.
In a Dakota I don't think there is the depth behind the seat to make this practical.

Ya i was looking to turn the whole thing around. I was thinking about going with 8's just to give a little more room inside the cab, because 12's are huge in there. I figured the subs would either be hitting me, or the rear of the cab, and the rear just might increase the shaking and rattling. Maybe ill just look into down sizing a little to increase space to mess around with.
