system hiss

Hello i just have a quick question i have a employee that ask me this question when he hooks up his amp ( zapco ag360) power ground speaker wires etc he seems to be getting a a hiss (dead air) sound coming from his speakers without rca hooked up.. any ideas? i tried changign amps with him ( had an extra 350 laying around) same thing ... any ideas or suggestions??? thanks

also he is running no eqs just headunit and amp.. also gains are turn to min...thanks

I noticed this too with several amps (3 to be exact, all of the mid to high end variety), even when I bench tested them with mute plugs. I think it is the noise floor.

Try muting the inputs with mute plugs to see if the noise goes away.

try grounding in a differnt location sounds like a ground loop [img]graemlins/dunno.gif[/img]
