It's a minor issue, yet can get somewhat frustrating on a busy day.
When you get a deck that was previously installed, and the wires were cut so short that the installer cut off the label tags that tell which wire to what speaker and what is remote on and Ant power. it's rather embarrasing to have the customer come back saying the system shuts off when a CD is inserted.
If you install, do yourself and others a favour, if you see a tag, push it back up the wire to the deck so it remains with the harness, and if the radio(like some Pioneers) has a resistor in line with the ignition wire, don't cut it off, it's there for a reason.
Yes the wires are colour coded, but not all installers, especially green ones are aware of the difference between blue with stripe, and all blue.

How short do you cut the wires Dereck? and why wouldn't you leave the tags on the wires?

I once worked with a color blind installer, he was totally lost when there were no tags on the wires. Ahhh, the good ol days. Same guy who found a marmot under the hood of the 57 Chev we were working on, scared the crap out of him.
