Type-R's wiring

First off, I am a newbie to this installation stuff and it is not my strongpoint...

I got an amp installed to power my four speakers, and got my fronts done, but left my backs as factory speakers (I have a 2002 Civic coupe). I have decided to put in some 6x9 Type-R's in the back, and installed them myself - not an easy task in a 2002 Civic. Eventually, once I fifnished, I realized the speaker connector that was put on by the installer for my factory speakers does not match up with the connectors coming from the Type-R's...what do I have to do to connect them up? The factory connector looks like a plug, while the Type-R's have two prongs lined up differently.

Maybe this is a stupid question with an easy answer, but I don't know it... any help so I can hook up my new speakers would be greatly appreciated... thanks.

Well if its the factory plug you can either do one of three things, splice into the wires, cut the plug off or get speaker plug harnesses. First locate the positive terminals on your new speakers. And if your wire colours are the same at the speaker as they are in the dash here is the colours:

Right Rear + = Pink
Right Rear - = Blue / Yellow
Left Rear + = Blue / White
Left Rear - = Blue / Black

Hope that helps
