Hey guys, I just installed a JL 500/1 amp and 2 12"W3s they sound good at moderate volume nut when I try to crank it,it make this nasty popping noise when the bass hits hard. It doesnt seem to do it when the bass is that deep low bass but when it is that punchy bass it sounds terrible. help

Sealed box? If so, maybe check for air leaks.

 

would an air leak make it sound that bad, like its rattling the speaker really hard

 

is the box ported or sealed. have you adjusted the gains properly on the amp yet. does it sound like something is bottoming out?

 

I have played with the gains and bass to see and if i have the gains down enough it doesnt do it but it should do this because my buddys set up is the same and when its loud it doesnt do this

 

Nasty popping... I hope that isnt over excursion... yea this needs to be heard to be diagnosed

could someone tell exactly how to wire the amp to the enclosure terminals then to the speakeres and how the dual coils wire together plaese. Im dyin ova ere.
