I noticed that the specs on line are different than the specs that come with the instuction book for the amp
I'm not really sure what you described, so here is a picture of what I describe for the series parallel combinatio nfor a 4 ohm load. It is the second option shown.

My preference is still running it 2 ohm stereo rather than 4 ohm mono. There are no risks in running it 2 ohm stereo either.

No its not a two channel. Its a mono block with two sets of terminals to help with wiring. Those to sets of terminals are bridged in the amp aswell but you still have to use the bridged terminals it shows cause of current draw.
