Thanks for all the replies... I think I'll be sticking with the yellow goop from now on.

As a follow-up question for sealing corners... White caulking, or the clear, stinky silicone?
As a follow-up answer; Avoid using caulking and silicones, their fumes can.., and do dissolve certain glues used in making a woofer. The best material to use for "imperfect cuts" is a combination of a good wood glue and sawdust, it will fill anyhole or crack, and blend and bond better than anything else. There are wood filler products that can be sanded, but the combo above is cheaper. </font>[/QUOTE]correct me if i'm wrong, but if you allow the silicone to properly dry (meaning at least a 2 day period) before using any speaker in the enclosure, then there should be no actual damage to any of the assembly glue used on said speaker.

I prefer to use "Kitty hair" (long strand fiberglass reinforced body filler) to seal cracks and holes... it's a little pricey, but nothing works better.

ive always used either pl400 or dap and giving them a good couple of days to cure, never had a problem... unfortantly without a table saw, my joints are perfect and need some sealing...

i also use 3/8 mdf for boxes with some 2x2 internal bracing, makes for a much lighter box. ive been told thats the wrong way to do it, but ive never had a problem yet.
