hmmm i did something like that last year in my pathfinder
can you hear your wiper motor work?
i broke a linkage which kept the wiper motor working as my wipers sat in place
i had to stick my arm out to clear the windshield

ya the motor works, the blades move up and down about an inch or so .
They go up about an inch, then go back down... LOL stupid dodge I dont understand it!

yupp you probably had a thick patch of ice which caused something
to snap...it was little bolt in my truck and my chinese mechanic got it fixed
it cost me $40

What happens if you try to move the wipers manually? Do they move or are they bound up?

I had a similar thing happen to a pickup that I was working on. I took off the panel covering the linkage and found that one of the arms popped off the the other and when the motor was going they would contact and make the wipers 'twitch' but that's all. Anyway, popped it back together and it was all good.

they manually move paul.
I will be pulling the cawl off this weekend hopefully get it going on sat!

im just surprised newer vehicles are this easy to break lol
i never had any problems with my mom's 96 windstar with any amount of snow

I bet you have a linkage arm that's popped off in there then - same as the pickup I worked on.

I dont know about caravans but I had to change linkage arms on my nissan altima I think 4 times in 4 years LOL. that makes it every year.
If you have a garage, pop up the hood and take a look at the assembly under the plastic piece where the wipers are. It might be that the part where motor attaches to the arm broke (mine had plastic attachments and that always broke). It's about half an hour job to do yourself.

OK final verdict is in.
The wiper arms will need replacing as they are both stripped. I tightened the outt hem. They be good till it warm out I hope.
