3-Way Splitter
3-Way Splitter
I'm looking to get a 3-Way Splitter to attach two tv's and the cable modem for internet. I have over 50 channels for the tv's if that makes a difference.
Now I'm wondering if its necessary to have the high end 5mhz to 1000mhz splitter that costs $32 at Future Shop or if I can get away with the 5mhz to 900mhz splitter that is only $8.

A 1000mhz splitter probably shouldn't cost 32 bucks. Try ebay. Secondly, a 900mhz splitter will work fine. I used like, a 3 dollar one from Circuit City for a couple years. Speeds and everything ran as normal for me. However, after a couple months of doing this, Comcast called me up and said they knew I had two computers hooked up to the internet. I'd assume because of the two different IPs accessing stuff. They told me if I didn't have one of them unhooked within the next couple days, they'd begin charging me for two internet connections. I complied as I wasn't sure if there was a way to trick them into not knowing.
