You'd be surprised what you can weld with Mig, we use to make all kinds of equipment from Gas line racks, conveyor *sp* systems, and this one this was damn huge looked like a big *** tank... all done with mig.

^^^Not sure what's so amusing? you make it sound like welding is an art you need to master... granted welding upside down and **** does take some skill but ur typical welding isn't all that difficult especially with Mig, set ur speed proper ur current gas etc and away ya go until the tip clogs up of course with spatter.

I employ 14 mechanics. Half of them weld, none of them very well with the exception of one guy. I would say they get daily practice on various tasks they perform, and it's still a marginal result most of the time.

Some people are gifted at it, they are artists in the way they can run a bead. I'm not intending to put anyone's welding ability down, but at the same time, give credit where it's due. I've seen my fair share of "pretty" welds that don't hold jack! My impression is that it IS an art.

^^^ As I said if you have ur welder set proper them "pretty" beads will hold strong...That's why I said if you have your stuff set proper there shouldn't be to many issues, my uncle is a shop formen for the place I worked at has no licence/cert whatever u can get and walks circles around the guy that works with him who has the certs/licence it's all in practice.. Of course the guy starting for the very first time isn't gonna walk circlse around anyone but it's pretty easy thing to pick up just takes time to perfect.
