Fair enough.

And I agree about the TA's.

But more potential there, for less $$$, is all I'm getting at.

Have fun, no matter what you decide to do!

Yea, there potential for sure, but I want something that not too many people have.(lots of people have Cav's but not cav's with 3.8's). T/A's and what not are SO over done it's un-real, especially where I live(and near where I live) any vehicle other than a chevy is junk. Stupid brainless hillbillies.

Anyway, I got the Cav for free, the 3.8 is only 200 bucks so it only seems fitting that I swap out the 4 banger in the Cav to the 240HP 3.8 and create something that should WALK all over most other cars around my area anyway....after of course some mild cam,intake and exhaust work.

It'd be lighter than a Camaro or Mustang, power to weight should be optimal and after some suspension mods it would hook up on ice.

Could be an interesting autocross car too.

</font>
Youre kidding right?
</font>
Yea right, like Sean said, TA's are pokey cars man, there heavy, and there not as torquey as everyone seems to think. There's potential, but everyone and their uncle has a Camaro or TA or Firebird with a hopped up 350 or 400.

Hell, I helped out in a motor swap in a Firebird once, it was a 78 I think....it was the Rockford Files car exactly, same gold colour and everything, very plain exterior. Anyway we swapped out the factory motor for a built Marine 350 with Keith Black heads and bottom end. Motor was said to be good for 500hp, so built 350 backed by a turbo 400 but had the 3.73 rear end(factory). wanna guess how many Civic's smoke him off the line daily? I beat him off the line in my Explorer the one time we were fooling around at the lights. Can you imagine how pissed off a chevy guy gets when his Firebird gets dusted off the line by a Ford SUV?

Anyway, no F bodies for me, the Jbody will suffice untill I can afford to restore a Mustang.

If you did end up going through with this I hope you plan on more then just an engine swap...

Those cavis arnt exactly built like tanks.. and when you add an engine that weights considerably more with 2x the torque bad things can happen...

Ask me how I know...

Thanks Haunz, I'm only the son of an ex engine builder not to mention having built my own engines, many muscle cars and even dune buggy's built of steel tube. I know what will hold up and what wont.

I am planning on re-inforcing the subframe and likely end up connecting the front and rear frames together for added strength and to keep the car as ridgid as possible.

Brandon - like Teri said, the people at http://www.j-body.org/ should be able to give you some good insight.

In your area there isn't too much but a quick run to T.O. should net you results when you find the right place.

The only people I know in your area have all their experience in domestic muscle cars so they really won't be much help to you.
