I swear the last fuel filter I bought for a TD was like $12 from can tire?
we are talking about an AWFUL simple computer system there are still only so many things that can be wrong.
I would get a small pressure gauge from Princess Auto and put it on the Schreader valve (sp?) on the fuel rail or "T" it inine with the fuel line before you go swapping parts..
Next time you take the pick up off check for play in the shutter wheel on the distributor.

Again, does that thing have a CPS? Rae's Olds had the same problem, would run bad/die and not restart till it cooled off.
Replaced the CPS and it's never done it since.

FYI Car Quest will usually exchange parts if what you bought didn't fix the problem.....
Where ever you buy parts just explain whats up and ask about their return policy......
Hahaha... to quote dukk MOPAR or NO CAR!
I had a similar problem with a 92 2.2 and it turned out to be the MAP sensor...

no crank positioning sensor on these TD vehicles that im aware of.
ya, hep is a possibility, but usually it fails all together, I gave him another distributor to try out though....
he also now has 2 map sensors, and 2 damn near new TPS sensors...and new fuel filter. This should radically reduce the list of things that can be wrong if all fail.
it would be a good idea to get a fuel pressure guage hooked up to the line....but thats money...and I dont have 1 either...
Just incase he replaces the map or tps and someone is still convinced its the problem!

Have you reset the computer since changing maps?
wich vacuum nipple did you run a vacuum line to on that baro solenoid?...might be the cause of stalling..
good to hear its on the road again.
Do you need the fuel filter? I would like to have it if you dont need it. I will now also need 1 of the tps sensors I gave you....everything else you can keep.
might be going to calgary this weekend witha friend as a road trip, could pick em up then if you dont need them.

I diconnected the hose off the old MAP and hooked it onto the new one...then just zip tied it up in place for now to see if it works...
I'll be disconnecting the battery today when I install my system...YEA!...So we will see what happens then....
Your more than welcome to take back the Fuel Filter and a TPS....no probs there...

So while I did my install today, I had the battery unhooked..6-8 hrs...
Hooked it back up..Started it up..let it run for about 1/2 hr or so while we did some test burps..
No problems...
Went to go get something to eat...drove the van out of the shop(it was raining,BTW), down the street maybe 3/4 block, let off the gas, and it all started again...As I tried to drive it, it only ran worse and worse...
Got back to the shop, let it cool off, checked over a couple things, found another cracked vac line, fixed it...everything seems fine...
Start it back up..runs fine til it gets a little warm...the stumbles and stutters for a while til it dies...Just like it did before I replaced the MAP...
I'm going to try the Feul Filter next...Sorry Eric, that one you gave me is for the car..not the van...
But now I'm wondering why it did this...It ran for 2 days with nearly no problems..ran fine after reconnecting the battery..but when I pull the thing out in the rain..all hell breaks loose...
Any thoughts?
