I think Belak's susp is too harsh. 3-4 games tops.
But, I also think it was intentional. A lot of guys do it that way today. They know were the opponents at, they deliberately look the other way when swinging their stick out of control at them. Watch for it.

First off, you don't need to be looking directly at someone to know where they are. Belak knew exactly where he was. If he had no clue about a guy standing 2 feet away from him then he has no business being an NHL player.
Next, you have to remember that these guys are on their skates for a living. To say that he can't control his stick when he's on the ice is horse ****. He has 100 times more skill than any of us, and damn well knows how to control himself on the ice.
And you can tell us about your 12 years of hockey experience all you want. I'm sure it doesn't impress too many of us. Just like my 20 years of playing, 8 years of refereeing (level 3), and 4 years of coaching don't impress you.
</font>
Did you skim through my posts or something i made it clear that i dont think what he did was right dude. My opinion that is ppl r taking it to xtreme for a punishment. </font>
Yeah, I totally read your post. But to me it sounds like you're trying to justify what he did because he was off balance and didn't know what he was doing.I just happen to disagree with you.
