fixed rate gas/electricity - good or bad?
Hey folks
Need some help as I don't really know if what this hot door to door marketing girl signed me up for was good or bad.
It's essentially a 5 year contract for fixed rate of gas and electricity through www.energysavings.com. Gas @ 10.91/GJ. Electricity @ 11.60/kWh.
Generally i'm through Epcor for electricity and Direct Enegery for gas.
I've always just paid my bills, never really paying attention to the price per GJ of gas or kWh of electricity. I have no real idea if it go's up or down, or whether it's worth paying 2 or 3 more cents (currently) for each just to have a fixed rate contract.
Someone lend some information.

Yeah, this fixed rate thing has Paid for itself in our lives(my gf and I's) we locked in 2 years ago, and since then She figured we are saving quite a bit! Even when we had our business, we were locked in with Ontario Energy SAvings corporation(fairly well known) and were saving through there as we used quite a bit of power in that business!! To more or less answer your question, Yes it is a good deal to sign up and pay a lil more now and save later! When has it been known to go down and STAY down?
