Free Auto Insurance Quotes

Anyone know of a website that does this or can even give you an approximate at what you're going to be looking at?
I'm investing in buying a new car within the next couple of months, and I like to have a goal to work towards and to know what to expect for the type of car I wish to buy.

I think insurancehotline makes you pay to get the company info for the quote they give you. I used it a few years ago before they charged and they saved me a lot of money. If i needed to find a new insurance company id definitely use it again, even if i had to pay a few bucks.

All I really was lookin for in general was the approximate amount for each type of vehicle. Which they gave and it worked good for now. To get a real quote I'd obviously go through my insurance that I already have for my piece of crap car.
Thank you guys links worked great

I tried a couple of those websites.. same old song and BS.... bad quotes and they want you to pay to see the company.. WTF !?!?
There used to be a free hotline you could call that would give you the three best rates from the major companies.. no BS involved...
I WISH I knew the number... Iam not even sure its still around... All I know is that I origionally found it advertised in the Toronto Sun news paper..

Yeah I call it a joke cause it's not remotely close to what I pay now, if it was remotely close to what I pay now then I'd say it's realistic.. Another thing that makes it a Joke is I put my wife's name in it and it gave me a quote of course again like 2500 higher then what we pay now, yet I put her name if as if she had a perfect record and I get a message saying " Due to the complex profile of this driver we can't give you an accurat quote" yet soon as I say she has 1 ticket or 1 accident all of sudden they can give a quote?? Yeah sure thing...

It depends on the company as they seek out different types of risks. For example, Company A is extremely price competitive but only wants the absolute cleanest driver. Not much money to be made on this type of policy for the referal. However, a driver with a poor record will be targeted by Company B as they will pay a higher premium (and in theory perhaps with the proper underwriting they can make more profits). It is all just the way the insurance industry works.
