He asked for some ideas...ok, so that must mean he's thought about all the staples we usually resort to, the francises (like Swiss Chalet), pizza, chinese etc ect.
Are you starting to follow?
U C, you can have almost anything for P/U or delivery if you just phone & ask...doesn't really matter what kind of restaurant it is they will not turn away your business so you could really have anything your little heart desires.
There really is nothing better food wise than a friend recomending a little gem of a place where knows a special dish or a few. We regularly order a whole tray of spicy chopped scallop cones, sashimi, tataki, etc to go, never a problem finding food made with local organic & healthy ingridients made by proprietors who actually care about the quality of the food b/c they're not working for a wage...they're building a business.

While were on the topic of roasted chicken...I picked up some Tenessee Jacks chicken from Joey's Only Seafood (ya I know its a seafood place), and it has to be some of the best chicken I have had in a long time from a restaraunt. Much tastier than Swiss Chalet.
I am the type of guy that will try anything once. So open the phone book, and start flipin. Like Islandphile said, 99% of restaraunts will prepare their food for delivery or pick up. Good way to experience different things is just to try somthing new every time...just becarefull because something might suprise you

Freerange tastes so much better....

Yeah that's a part of the page...it's also what they're fed. But do you know for sure, I mean I'll probably have more respect for Swiss Chalet if their chickens are at least freerange, hopefully organic fed as well.
