hmm interesting mythbusters a low tone like 5hz or something....
Good point on the 'outdoor use' of the application. And I do think the higher, deafening/ear bleeding freq's would be much more effective than just making one poop their combat pants. Sure it's embarassing and uncomfortable, but nothing a shower couldn't fix. Besides, it'd make for some good stories...

It was my understanding that the so-called brown-note was actually 3Hz, at least, that was our story back in high school.
I would have done the test indoors, maybe in something like an aircraft hanger. It was a good episode, but I was very disapointed that they didn't actually do a low frequency sweep from 9 or 10Hz and down.
Somehow, I don't think we can get them to test the QC "Quick (um" note, which as I recall was 32 or 33Hz...
Brown noise has a 6dB roll-off in output as frequency increases, so there is simply a lot of bass content. It is also known as Gaussian Noise. I used it once or twice to break in woofers, but I found a 22Hz sine wave worked just as well and made less, ahem, noise.

that's funny... less noise.. i can only imagine.
