im gonna punch a salesman....
so im lookin for a new deck, i was at A&B sound last weekend, guy was showin me a nice panasonic, for like 329$, i saw the same deck a lil cheaper at soundsaround, so i went there tonite, guy made me a great offer on it, but said id have to get it installed there if i wanted the extended warranty, i thought about it, and decided to pass cus along with installing the deck i plan to run some other wiring for future plans, so knowing a&b will let me get the extended warranty and still install the deck myself i go there, and wait.... and wait.... and wait..... finally like 20 minutes later someone decides to do their job and ask if i need a hand with anything, i tell him im lookin for a deck, and the one im interested in, i tell him i was offered the panasonic 5410U for like 40$ less then what he had it as, and he tries to tell me, nope not the same deck, that sounds around was showing me the 5400, im like, ummm no guy, same deck, same features, and a couple bucks less on the tag price, and hes like well this deck is exclusive to us... blah blah blah... im like dude i was just looking at it 5 minutes before i came here, hes like well then our rep must be lying to us then eh?? bein all sarcastic... i was like well obviously u have no idea what ur doin so im gonna go elsewhere....
so just to be sure, i do some checking, there is no 5400,
just the 5410 im trying to decide if i wanna go back and punch him, or just talk to a manager and explain that as a customer looking to spend $300 in his store, id prefer not to be first ignored, then out right lied to.....i hate snot nosed little ****** who know nothing, like dont these people realize that commision from a sale is a good thing?
its pretty bad when soundsaround sales people are more courteous and willing to deal to make a sale. times are a changin i gues.....
so tomorrow its off to another panasonic dealer in town to see what kinda deal i can get, if all else fails back to soundsaround, and i say screw the warranty.... its a nice deck tho

i feel i deserve a deal because im the one with the cash willing to make a purchase and put said cash in the pocket of the salesman, i dont expect cost, but i know theres usually plenty of room to negotiate in car audio, ive gotten 268$ 6x9 for 125$, if i can save 30-40$ on a deck, im gonna bemore inclined to go make other purchases there as well over the next couple weeks, im also in the market for 2 pairs of 6.5s, k ill scratch that, i dont feel i deserve a deal, but im still gonna try to get one, why should i pay more then i have to? ultimately the consumer holds all the cards, cus at the end of the day its my cash and my decision to give my business to a particular person/company, like i said i wouldnt go in and say yea i want that 330$ deck for 200.... cus i know full well it aint gonna happen, i didnt even throw out a number with the first salesman, he asked me what it would take to have me leavin with that deck, i said a lil off the price he came back with an offer that was almost $50 off the tag price, if u dont believe in tryin to save a lil cash thats cool, but id rather look at it like that $50 i save on the deck is $50 ill put into a pair of speakers in a week so hes gettin the cash anyhow
see i was surprised normally my experience with a&B are decent like that, where the guy realizes quick that im not a car audio guru, but im also not a retard and i know what im lookin for, and yea sometimes a&b tends to be a little pushy, but thats part of commissioned sales staff. i like commissioned staff cus they actually get off their butts to help u and are more willing to haggle a lil to make the sale, its all about pinchin pennies, gotta recycle the funds..... make a little seem like alot to save enuff to get something basically for free
like i said ill check out car salon tomorrow mornin while i got some runnin round to do... see how their prices are then ill go from there.
