Then either the installer is a idiot and used a non manual transmission remote starter or used a manual transmission remote starter and bypassed all the safety guards or the girl who gave the car to her friend is a total idiot and did not inform her friend of the system. In all cases if this did actually happen, it comes back to the safety guards put in place to keep this from happening were circumvented by either the installer or the user.
