i wonder what would happen if he pou rd fiberglass resin over the cardboard box and applied some matting. should work ok then. as tho the airspace is right.

The beautiful thing with a box like that is that it more readily absorbs those nasty transient waves that so easily get reflected off conventional rigid surfaces. Secondly, the entire box acts as a passive radiator, giving you deeper bass. Third, think about how easily you could squeeze that into those tight, hard to install places.

I pretty much did that with my first sub (Planet Audio). I used MDF but a friend and I cut corner....we didn't cut stright lines, then tryed to fix with glue.
