I've got a Lancer ES, and it's no 2700Kg, it's 1300 Kg, and 120 Hp is enough to get me into enough trouble without even the extra 40 Hp of the ralliart.

We've never had a problem with ours, only 17,000 on it so far, but a nice car, with lots of room inside, and lots of options for the trunk. On the downside, it's a PITA to get power wire through it.

They are cheaply made cars. Mitsu is rumoured to go back to the states soon as they aren't such a success in Canada. But thats only a rumour. Even cheaply made I'd still buy it but then I also drive a Cavalier (which I love) so thats me.

sorry DW, you did say pounds. still how much power do you need? 120 HP in that car is good enough for 200 KM/H on the highway. Do you own one? have you driven one? or are you looking solely at power and weight as it's defining feature? you'd jump all over someone for doing that with car audio gear, but apparently it's ok for you to do that with an actual car worth much, much more.

Having owned a Civic, and a Lancer, the lancer feels much less cheaply made than the civic, and the construction is very nice.

yeah, i dont know yet, i'm going to go check out the dealers up here, we have a ford, chev, dodge and toyota dealers. I dont want to be stuck with a broken down car 5 hours from edmonton. I also don't like the idea of driving 5 hours for an oil change or any sort of service

My sister has a 2005 Lancer Ralliart. I would say it is the smoothest and best handling car I have ever drove. The OZ model has 120 hp, but the Ralliart has the bigger 2.4L with 160 hp. It will slam you back in the seat no problem, but of course just about every new car will now a days. No problems with it yet 20,000 km, and Mitsu has one of the best warrenties out there.
