You should be fine above 128. I don't see why ppl worry so much about the quality, when the majority usually just download mp3's, then convert them to wavs before they burn.
Which is basically like compressing the file, then uncompressing it to burn it, which I'm sure causes a further loss of quality.
Just download something above 128, listen to it, if it sounds fine, and doesn't go all whack, then burn it.

Yeah i tested that theory earlier today and I did notice a difference in quality from 128 all the way up to 256 n 320. I didnt much like the 320 so far, but the 256 was really good. I didnt know all this stuff until now I always thought 128 was the best lol

128 sounds alright. 192 sounds the best as far as getting the best sound quality for the amount of space the mp3 takes up. However I would just get as high as possible when you download. If you have at least a 30-40GB harddrive, which most computers now days do. Then downloading high bitrate mp3's shouldn't bother your harddrive at all. Personally I stick to 192 they sound the best for their size to my ears. However if I am listening to a classical/instrumental song/cd I tend to stick to 256 or higher. On a side note if space is an issue you might think about downloading or re-ripping your mp3's into wma format. 96kbps wma format is comparable to 192kbps mp3 format. And cuts the space almost in half. it's really up to you though what sounds best to you. If you like 128, then download 128.

True but i spent most of today trying to find 256-320 quality songs n realized how much kazaa sucks but i cant very well select a quality on mirc when searching mp3s. BUT im really startin to like the quality on the 256-320. I have a 60 gig HD thats partioned 40-20 I think... The bigger partion is almost full lol Its just REALLY hard to find the higher quality songs especially the old stuff

use winmx, it's easier to find the quality that you specify
