I was more so curious to the actual finish you use, so I have an idea of what to get for mine I have mine built with 1"mdf as well but the sub isn't recessed though wasn't gonna bother with that. Did you pick the amp up from Solen?

^ OH.. Mine is done with 10mil oak veneer, Red oak stain, then satin polyurathane. Applying the veneer and finishing isnt to hard.. Applying poly so its smooth is pretty much the hardest step. If you want i could type something up for applying veneer, and then finishing. For a simplier finish, wrapping the 4 sides in carpet, then doing a textured painted top plate is easy, and looks good (I think).

The amp is actually one i picked up from creativesound about a year or 2 ago.. Its the DT300 that adire brought in for a while from europe i believe.. Cool amp, makes around 300-350wRMS, and has a single band selectable EQ..
