The guys on "Mythbusters" did an episode a while ago about this exact topic. They tried a dozen different ways to fool the detector, and they all failed. As for jamming a radar or laser beam, I would be impressed to hear about anything available to John Q. Public....the military might have something but I doubt they'd let it out of the bag......
