Don't quote me on this but i am pretty sure that when you use a bill of sale. Wheither it be one from the license bureu or the one on the regristration. There is a lemon policy that protects the buyer for 30 days from the sale of the vehicle. I will look up some more on this and get back here.

If the ownership is still in your name... call the cops and report it as stolen.

Let them "repo" it for you

So what happens if you try to take him to court and his story is that he has already paid you all the money...
he has to prove that hes made the payments... you can thanks judge judy on that one....unless the guy was making cash payments which cant be traced....either way hopefully you can scrape together enough money for books.

Yeah but if he hasnt made the agreed payments,it is then therefore stolen....

I'm giving him to the end of this week to provide the car to me...not an estimate from a shop, but the car..I will have a look at it for myself and then decide what to do.

If he doesnt either cough up the cash or the car,I will file a stolen car report on it,place a lein on it and file suit against him.

People are telling me left and right to call it a writeoff...screw that!!I'm fed up with people taking advantage of me and using me...Unless something drastic happens,I'm pushing this to the end...

And BTW...I did find the money for my books....Thanks to my manager at work for that...

But if someone could tell me more about this "Lemon Law" I would appreciate it....

Thanks for all the really good input..Keep it coming..

hasn't he paid one payment already or?

He signed the contract I dont think u can accuse him of stealing the car if he provides proof of that contract. You can sue him and what not but u probably can't get him for stealing the car if he has that contract it proves that that part of it was legal as to why he has the car in his possession.

But failure to follow an agreement of purchase would still be classed as theft wouldnt it?

I mean if I go into a stoe to buy a can of pop for $1.00,I set down only .25 and grab the can and run, isnt that theft?

I really dont see how its not theft...But I may be wrong...if I ammplease someone explain it to me..

Oh yeah....He has made a payment of $210 towards an agreed sum total of $600.The next payment of $120 was due yesterday. He has now not paid it nor has he provided a car for me to see as being "puked"...and he refuses to tell me where the car is...something to think about there....
