side exhaust legal?
If they are straigh cut off like, from the headers to the front of the wheels then yes they are, not in your case becouse they are exiting on the back wheel so you are fine, yes its the sound they dont like, any cop will appericate a nice vet

I just meant that you can go ahead and do it. Even if it's illegal, which i don't think it is, no cop is ever gonna notice or do anything if it's not too loud because you just straight pipe it.

not worried about noise, its not like they are going to be straight pipes...
and i found this on bc4x4.com
"(3) In addition to the requirements of section 7.03, every passenger vehicle shall be equipped with an airtight metal exhaust pipe and muffler which carries the exhaust gases to a point beyond the body skirt of the vehicle.
Also under "Standards for the Approval of a Motor Vehicle"
Exhaust muffler
22 (Other items omitted)
The exhaust system shall not be located so that a person may be burned when entering or leaving the vehicle.
I did not find any reference to exhaust gasses exiting from in front of the rear wheels, or even a reference to the position of the pipes relative to the doors. I decided that since the pipes did exit from the underside of the vehicle and that since I could put my hand on the tail pipe at normal operating temperature that it did in fact comply with the MVA Regulations, at least by word if not by intent. It passed the inspection as it was."

from what I read there sounds like in BC in front of the rear wheels is ok
I agree phine your local cop shop and find out, every province is different
oh yeah in manitoba it's ok for trucks to exit in front of the rear wheels as long as it's behind the cab
and as most people stated, the cops will most likely leave you alone anyways unless it's too noisey or you do something to get their attention
