Which TV?
WEGA sounds simple, yet nostalgic and sophisticated to me.
I agree with the HD not being incorporated into many many channels and what not. That's why you move to Japan if you want HDTV. EVERYONE there can (has to) afford it.

Hey I was also curious about this feature on the SONY.
Anyone know if this feature makes any difference when you use it? Or how much of a difference it makes?
16:9 Enhanced Mode (V-Compression) focuses available scan lines within the letterbox area, maximizing resolution for lifelike images.

An HD ready tv is great for more things than just HDTV cable/sattelite. You will notice abig improvment if you have a progressive scan DVD player - and if you don't now, your next one will be.
Also, HDTV's will be no better in PQ than a regualr TV when it comes to analog brodcasts. When it comes to viewing HD brodcasts (and DVD's), well then there is a huge difference.
But the choice is yours....if you are not concerned about being future-proof, then go with either TV that you feel better about (my choice is still the Toshiba).
