These virus's will often block the main page for antivirus programs, sometimes if you can figure out the website to go maybe 2 sites deep on an online antivirus scan you can get around it (did it once in the past for a customer)

I used to use http://housecall.trendmicro.com but they've done something silly as of lately. So i've been using www.pandasoftware.com .

In this case let me see if i can find a link a page or two deep:

http://www.pandasoftware.com/products/ActiveScan.htm

you can try this one too, it'd take you directly to the scan window, but the fact that they won't support my IE 7 or firefox isn't allowing me to get to the page i want, the link MAY work for you though (hopefully)

good luck. If all else fails, you could try either:

a) download an antivirus, put it on cd and then install it on that computer (not overly likely to work)

b) remove her harddrive connect it as a slave drive to a working pc, and scan her hdd with an antivirus from the working PC (fairly likely to work - so long as the antivirus can remove it)

Okay, if you go into msconfig, do you have WinServices.exe (or something similar) in there ? If so, that's caused similar problems on several computers I've worked on ...
