Slingshot i think that mother comment was directed to me. I told him he was a goof and he should act his age not his shoe size. He replied with a double quote that had your post and mine. You might have missed my post under his as it was small. But you are right that **** isn't appropriate.

I will stay here, this is home [img]smile.gif[/img] I don't find there are that many morons around here.....every once in a while we get a few but thats it, the mods take care of it c'mon have faith in the mods people

Hello all. I figured I would take the time to respond and answer some of the questions you raised.
First of all, I have not been around the site latley for a reason. I took a step away from the board for a while. As far as I am aware, Wade did the same and is still doing so.
I felt that anything that was done on the board and any form of moderation we did was recieved with much critisism. I could not go a day without some sort of email or PM with somebody complaining about somthing. Some of the topics had legitimit cause, and some were just plain annoying.
We shut down threads...people complained. We kept threads openn...people complained. We edited threads...guess what? People still complained.
Now, the time I spend on this board is soley volunteer and I recieve no compensation for it. I understood that and I have never expected anything in return for my time spent here. The same came be said about the site itself. It creates little to no revenue and is mearly a place we have provided for like minded individuals to call "home". Any funds we do get from things like ads, go directly to the opperating costs of the site. I found that I was spending between 3-4 hours a day on the site and the majority wasn't doing what made me happy about the site in the beginning; talking about car audio. It was spent playing "hall monitor". I guess it comes with the territory.
Anyway, aproximatly 3-4 weeks ago, I decided to take a step back from the board and let things go. Obviously there was a reason why we liked to keep a short leash on the crap that happens on the board. It kept alot of the trash out and kept this board truley unique. When people come onto a board and do not see the trash talk going around, they are less prone to create more as they know it will not go anywhere.
With that said, I have not decided if I will be returning or not. I know there has been talk of the board going away completely as well. Who knows. IMO we do not need more moderators. The ones that are on here visit often enough to keep the crap to a minimum, but when it came down to the nitty gritty, I was usually the one who dealt out all the bad stuff.
So those are my thoughts, I am going to go enjoy my winter and I may be back, I may not. We'll see how the site goes. Hope this answered some of your questions. As always, we are open to feedback and suggestions.

One thing to remember is that although there's a good number of people who moderate on here, we all can't spend the whole day in front of a computer watching the site.
Sometimes life gets in the way of recreation.
Steps have been taken to reduce the junk, some have had their posting rights disabled, others banned where feasible, new member approval has been added (including the banning of popular "free" email addresses popular with those that tend to cause trouble)
You'll also find a report post option - so if you see something, let a brew know.

I love this board as it really helps us canadain car audio "freaks" and enthusiasts ( sp [img]smile.gif[/img] ) and it would be a shame to lose it. I would like to encourage everyone with any ideas to make this a better board.

I sincerely appreciate the space provided here for people to air out ideas and chew the fat.
Wade, if you are interested in stepping away from hosting the site, I'm sure there are a few people that would be willing to step in to give you a break. Just keep people informed.
