My mortgage and line of credit is with National Bank.

Couldn't be happier!!! Great service from ALL the staff including the bank manager who calls me to say "The prime went down I think I can save you some money do you want me to look into this?" How can you beat that. Been with them for 10 years now.

I have a checking acct with CIBC just because it's close to the house (within walking distance). Nothing special...absolutely nothing.

Was with BMO before but they kept screwing up so I switched to CIBC.

Well after about a month of wasted time, I've opened and closed an account with Scotia. From a lack of customer service to a lack of what they could offer compared to what they told me.....Disappointment over all. (Thats personal banking only cause they never gave me a person who could do business accounts, despite making it clear I was looking to open one).

I went from being promised a 40k line of credit at 5% to her computer being messed up to the point she couldn't approve it and had to send away for approval (2-3 days according to her). 2 weeks later, "despite excellent credit, we can't do the 40k line of credit. We can however do a 9k loan at 16.5%." which wouldn't have been remotely helpful.

You'd think try'n to move loans from one bank to another, and give them your business, they'd want to help n what not. Not always the case i guess.

I'm back to the thinking that it's all in the personal banker. You get someone thats good and you're good. However, they seem to be far and few in between.

BMO, have been for almost 10 years. Never had an issue at all really. I also have a MC with them.

TD: Ditched them before i went to BMO after a customer service experience. Still have a visa with them and i will never part with it. TD VISA customer service is exceptional though and they have always treated me very well.

ING: I currently have my RRSP's with them and will probably get my mortgage through them as well.

I was with RBC since I moved to this country. (6 years)... I have an account, visa and a student credit line with them... till this summer they were good... but now started and it was just painful... they have changed their "rules" about student loans and because I haven't provided my enrollment papers this year (previous year was ok, they didn't need anything- i guess that changed), so they:
1- blocked my credit line 1 week before my tuition was due(when I wanted to pay my tuition in fact).
2- changed my account and charged me annual fees.
3- changed my visa from student + charged me fees+ increase my limit???!?!?!
oooh did i forgot to say that I haven't received any warning or acknowledgment from them till my school started? And all they did was congratulate me with graduation and welcomed me in the "grown up life" (did i mentioned that I was enrolled in the 4 year program and they knew about that all along, and that was on beginning of my 3rd year?- they are good with counting cash but they cant count years)....

Cuz of that my tuition had to be paid with overdraft and visa cash advance!

And now I am still waiting for them to "verify" my official enrollment confirmation!

They are very good with managing your accounts... they do EVERYTHING for you! they don't even bother you to let you know what they are doing....

After 15 phone calls all the charges were refunded...but my *** still hurts from getting raped by RBC!

Now my online banking is filled with 3 inactive visa numbers, and they still cant decide which one I am allowed to use!

other than that its a great bank.... ugh.. <shoving a pencil deep into my eye socket>
