you are gonna need a monster power supply! go and buy yourself a pro pa amp like a crown or qsc wiyh crossover built in and then build yourself a box with a couple of good, i mean good car subs, tune the box to 25hz and hold on to moms dishes in the kitchen!!! it will be cheaper and sound better than if you spend 800-1000 on a good power supply, plus the cost of a good car amp.

I do not understand why you think that home subs are no good. Home subs and cars subs are designed for different performance.
A car sub is made to fit in a small box, and as such may be less efficent. It is also designed to roll off at about 50Hz, give or take which is around where you car cabin gain starts to take effect.
Home subs cannot take advantage of room gain and therefore are designe with much lower -3db frequency point. Typically under 30Hz or lower for good ones.
Price wise, things are similar. You can get a good 12 inch 400watt home sub for under $1000. That is close to a car sub, when you add up the sub, amp, box etc.
