Need help ASAP, engine noise coming from sub

Hi there,
i just installed a small system into my ranger but i'm getting horrible engine noise from my sub?! what did i do wrong? i have a 600watt sony xplod amp with a 10" jensen sub and an older kenwood deck. All the wiring is 4g that is fused at the battery. Any suggestions would be great! thanks

Sounds like you are getting interfierance from your RCA's and the power wire. How do you have your power wire and RCA's ran? Are they sitting beside each other?

A general rule of thumb is to take your power wire and run it on one side and then run your rca's in the middle of the car or the opposite side that way you won't run into this problem.

What kind of RCA's are you using?

Try seperating the power wire and the rca's and see what happens!

go buy a nice set of sheilded RCA's and re-run them. The noise will go away

You may have ground loop problems. They arise from different components in your system that are grounded at different voltages. Make sure your deck is grounded to the frame and not just through the oem ground wire.
