help choosing mid level sub

im did quite a bit of searching but i don't have time to get down to the nitty gritty of looking for subs... like i use too. heres my situation

i blew my infinity kappa perfect 12.1 (it knocks when it hits hard... im not totally sure what happen)

i need to replace it with something, looking more on the mainstream side of woofers. powering it is a MTX mxa3002 amp. 300 RMS. 4ohm bridged.
box 1.75ft ported i think.....

looking at
mtx t5512-04 (good numbers yet cheap price got me wondering)
Hertz es300
Infinity Kappa 12" Car Subwoofer (122.7W)

infinity seems to win the number race. bigger coil. better XMAX, better spl.

also any suggestion welcome

you need a SSA Dcon................
it would be perfect on that 300w rms and it will produce lows non of the above choices
will even come close to

the infinity kappa suffers from epic false advertizing since they they rate SPL at 2.83V 1m so it's 6dB's high from it's real rating. Also the MTX has more linear travel. infinity rates their xmax as susmax.(maximum suspension travel) not linear travel. The hertz I have no hands on experience with but their entry level stuff is very basic and unimpressive from all the legitimate reviews I've gotten.

If you want something efficient that plays pretty well, the MTX is a good choice.. but you are really limiting your options sticking with the big box.

Here is a link to a great inexpensive sub, on sale for $100 + tax, delivery well might not cost anything if you time it right.

Pioneer of Canada - English - TS-W1207D2|D4 - Premier 12" Champion Series Subwoofer with 1200 Watts Max. Power

thanks i appreciate your input. the reason i mention hertz is because my buddy ravs about them. and a local shop carries them. i think there a little over priced.

i always thought my infinity perfect 12.1 (discontinued) sounded good.
well what about other manufactures like
alpine
pioneer
JL
JBL
kicker
energy
rockford
bazooka

i don't want to have to order online or have to hunt down the sub.
im looking in the 300 dollar range.

If you are trying to get loud, the Digital Designs DD1512 is right in that area as well. I am pretty sure I have one in stock as well. I might have a good MB Quart but I don't think I have it in stock in dual 2ohm that you would require with the amp you have.

I am the Canadian SSA Dealer/Rep....
$140 shipped to your door for the 12" SSA Dcon ( dual 4 ohm )

for the price you will not find a better built or better sounding sub

the Dcon is more SQ based than SPL...very musical
