Am I stupid or is my deck screwed?

It's early and I'm pretty sure im right but it's been a while. So i realized one day that my subs were not as loud (thought the amp was off or dced) so i decided to take a look. amp is fine, fuses are good. both subs play. so i started playing with my deck. if i balance to the left i get bass, but if i balance to the right i get nothing. so i tested both rcas from both preouts and to both inputs and they all work. in other words i can make either sub go from either preout. but i do realize that if i balance to the right i get nothing no matter what. it is a sub out by the way. any ideas?
