If I have a sub that is a dual 4 ohms vc and the re on the spec sheet is 2.9. Does this mean the actual resistance at the terminal on the basket is 2.9ohms?? I dont have one here to check. Cause I understand it if i have three 4ohm dvc 10's if each driver is parallel and then each one is put into a series normally would give you a 2.67Ohm load. But if they are 2.9 then the final load would be 1.93ohm a bit different but just for matching a amp it kind of important. We are trying to match a amp to these drivers and want the full benfit of the output capablibities.

Thanks

Your coils will read a lower DC resistance when cool... try blasting them with rated power for an hour and see what they read...

2.9 will probably turn into 4 pretty quickly..

from what I understand DC resistance and impedance are two different things, if you push on the cone and move the VC the resistance changes, the impedance is based on these values some how, an average or something

The nominal impedance will be the same as the DC resistance....

Impedance will change from there based on inductance/capacitance of the coils, mechanical suspension provided by the woofer, and tuning of the box...
